How to Email or Download Donation Acknowledgment Letters

In MoneyMinder, you can send donation acknowledgment letters to a single donor or generate letters for multiple donors at once.
Let’s start with how to email or download a letter for a single donor.
Email or download a letter for a single donor.
Click Contacts in the sidebar.

Select the Donations tab.

Donations are grouped by calendar year for tax purposes. You can choose any date range within that year.

You’ll see options to generate a letter for a specific donation or for year-to-date donations. The process is the same for both. We’ll demonstrate with the year-to-date letter.

Click Compose Donation Letter (year-to-date).

MoneyMinder provides a default donation letter template.
To customize it, use Edit Message on the left to add text, links, images, or placeholders. You’ll see your updates appear in the Preview panel on the right.

To save your changes as a template for future use, click Convert current message to a template.

When you’re ready, click Save & Send to email the letter or Save and Download PDF to save a PDF onto your computer where you can open and print it.

Now, let’s walk through how to email or download donation acknowledgment letters in bulk.
Click Tools and choose either Bulk Email Donation Letters or Bulk Download Donation Letters from the dropdown.

Note: For Bulk Email Donation Letters, only contacts with email addresses entered will appear in the list.
Click Select All (you can deselect any contacts you don’t want to include or hold shift to select a range)

Next, click Edit Donation Letter Message.
This works the same as the single-donor process. You can use the default template, customize a message, or select a saved template from the dropdown.

Click Save & Send to email all selected contacts.

For Bulk Download Donation Letters, just click Save and Download PDF to download letters for all selected contacts.

Message Center
Contact Statements and Donation Acknowledgment Letters that have been emailed or downloaded are listed in the Message Center.
From there, you can:
- View the date each message was sent or downloaded
- Review the content of e-mailed messages
- Resend messages as needed
NOTE: No preview is available for downloaded PDF messages

To see particular messages, there are several filtering options available.
Filtering can be done by Message Type:

By Output Type:

By Account Type, Date, or Contact:

For emailed messages, click the contact name in the list. The message will open, allowing you to view a copy of what was emailed.

The message can be resent from this screen by clicking the three dots on the right and choosing Resend Message from the dropdown.
