Halloween is a great season to drum up funds -and fun- for your important cause. It is a time well situated between the back-to-school frenzy and the hectic holiday season, not to even mention the treats. As leaves fall and fireplaces ignite this is a fantastic opportunity to circle the wagons around and raise community support for your local PTA, Booster Club, Sports Team or other School Club.
These ideas are so fun; it’s scary.

Pumpkins for Sale!

Buy a bin of local pumpkins and sell them! Folks will be more inclined to purchase a pumpkin, or two, if the proceeds go to a good cause. Try asking the supplier for a special discount in trade for a sign that advertises their company or farm.  Selling pumpkins is just where the fun starts! You can have a “guess the weight” of a bigger pumpkin. Or field games like racing with mini pumpkins on spoons. You could also offer a pumpkin painting and carving station for an additional fee.

Scare Crows Walk this Way…

Sell scarecrows to families or groups to decorate, say for $40 a piece. For the price, they will get a scarecrow frame made out of two sturdy wood stakes nailed together in a cross formation. All decorating is done by the buyer or you could organize a decorating day with plenty of hay on hand and a few bags of clothes donated by the local thrift store. Decorated scarecrows can be displayed along a designated “walk”. The fence along a baseball field or soccer field is a nice location. If you are feeling especially festive, pick a theme like The Adams Family, The Wizzard of Oz, or Star Wars. Participants would have a chance to vote for the scariest scarecrow and the winner gets a prize!

Trade-in Your Treats:

Promote a healthy Halloween by selling your treats. Partner up with a local dentist or pediatrician as a sponsor. The idea is that after trick-or-treating; the sponsor will buy back the Halloween candy from the kids for $1 a piece. With a little creativity, a healthier Halloween can be just as fun. You could celebrate with a healthy Halloween party where all the foods are fresh veggies and fruit and cheese and crackers.  Games can be bobbing for apples, a costume contest and face painting.
Raise fun and funds with these easy and creative ideas.  Halloween fundraising is a snap with a little creativity, organization and a great cause to support.
