Carla Olivo is our Most Valuable Volunteer for the second quarter of 2020. Congrats, Carla. Thanks for all you do.
Carla Olivo is the Content Manager for SoCo Neighbors, Clifton Living, and Neighbors of Fairfax Station magazines circulated in northern Virginia. She is also the Assistant Executive Director of the South Fairfax Chamber of Commerce.
She has been a volunteer at South County High School in Lorton, Virginia for the last ten years, most notably as the Lorton Holiday Extravaganza and Craft Show Director and the First VP of the PTSO. Carla has also served as a South County High Odyssey of the Mind Coach for the last six years.
Carla says their Holiday Extravaganza started out as a shopping fundraiser for the senior class party. Over the last ten years, they've been able to grow it into a true community celebration. For Carla, it has been a joy working with a team of very dedicated parents on what is now a local holiday tradition.
"I have had such fun working alongside other Stallion parents, teachers and administrators over the years. While the funds we were able to raise to support school activities and events were very gratifying. I feel very lucky to be a part of such a great community. I thank Nannette for nominating me but truth be told, her leadership throughout the years makes it very easy to step up and volunteer."
